A6M2 Zero Type 22, Zuikaku, Truk Island, 1943

Warbirds Series. A good looking model with some realistic-looking wear and tear. In this particular model the sliding canopy fits when in the closed position.

A6M2 Zero Type 21/22, Akagi, Pearl Harbor, Lt. Cdr. Shigeru Itaya

Warbirds Series. A strongly accented and attractive version of the Zero. However, the sliding canopy fits poorly and the landing gear covers don't fit the landing gear openings. There are two problems with the sliding canopy: the sliding portion won't close all the way; in addition, it won't line up with the windshield.

I wished Dragon Wings hadn't introduced the opening canopy. The added complication just means more can go wrong. On fully half of the Dragon Wings models I've bought with sliding canopies, the canopies refuse to slide. And on all but a few models, the canopies won't close all the way.
