Messerschmitt 109E JG 26, "Schlageter", Adolf Galland
Aviation Archive. This is a year 2000 Corgi, and, despite its massive production run (not unusual for the time), copies are hard to find on the resell market. Not only that, but on Wings900.com, there is this note: "'Adolf Galland, JG 26 'Schlageter' (model was released with either yellow engine cowling and (sic) camo engine cowling, yellow being the rarest)". So I lucked out on Ebay, and bought the rarest version for a song. At the time there was a great deal of bidding for another Schlageter, and for that reason I think this one was missed by other potential bidders.

Anyway, this is a very nice 109E; I've always loved the Corgi E's, and after much Ebay activity, this model completes my collection of the early versions. The paint and assembly on the model are excellent, the pilot is nicely painted, and all the parts and pieces are well assembled. I was even able to get the main gear to stay in place with a minimum of collapses. For that, both it and I are most grateful.
