Archive. Just guessing, but Corgi
may no longer take this mold seriously, though the expectation that
they be paid full price for the resulting models hasn't changed. I
can just imagine the mold being assigned to some junior model engineer
so the engineer can learn the manufacturing ropes. The reason for
my suspicion is the number of omissions on the model, including no
silver paint on the landing struts, no brown paint on the exhaust
stacks, and no black paint on the carburetor intake. These are the
sorts of omissions that might be expected in the Warbirds line, but
not in a limited edition boxed version.
The mold itself is still great, and has a lot of life left in it,
especially since all other attempts to produce an Emil in this scale
have been less than successful. I will continue to buy new releases
of the model, though, hopefully, future releases will be finished,
and not missing these much needed highlights. |
