Curtiss Tomahawk Mk.IIB, AK402, P/O Neville Duke, RAF No. 112 Squadron, Fort Maddelena, November 1941

Aviation Archive. Fun model, nicely designed and painted, though I lost that little fiddly landing gear piece again. This time it popped out of the tweezer and was GONE. Searched everywhere and finally found it in the middle of the floor, well hidden in wood shavings and Corgi (Lily, the dog) hair. Anyway, love the model, with the canopy being the only off putting part, being about 1/16 of an inch too high.

When I took the model out ot the box, I noticed that skyblue area around the F on the port-side tail, and it looked like a typical "paint blow". I emailed the vendor to ask for a replacement, but after talking to the Aiken's rep, decided to do some research, and concluded that Corgi got it right: the real plane was, for whatever reason, painted that way.

A wonderful model, with that familiar Corgi heft, and a worthy addition to any collection..
