Power Series. Every once in awhile
this hobby goes from purr to sublime, and this is one of those times.
I can't fathom what techniques Hobby Master used to produce this particular
sublimity, but with this model (and their other 1/48 offerings) they
have proved they are masters of their art. I often find myself comparing
Hobby Master and Corgi offerings, but as Hobby Master takes off (no
pun intented) in completely different directions from Corgi, that
becomes harder and harder.
While the pup is now producing excellent models, and introducing some
new molds, Hobby Master is going into unexpected and daring directions,
producing models that are both unusual and facinating.
In the past, diecast-airplane manufacturers limited their offerings
to planes that had large 1:1 production runs, which allowed them to
use the same mold for dozens or even scores of different models. Hobby
Master has stepped off that path, offering excellent standard scale
models in limited (collectable) quantities at unbelievably low prices.
How they manage to do this and still make a profit, I don't know;
however, I do know of a few NATIONS that could use their budgeting
acumen.
Even if I could find something ill to write about this F3F, I wouldn't
want to broadcast it to the four or five people who find this web
page. The fact is, this particular piece of art is just too Sublime. |
