Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker 155/17, Lt. Eberhard Mohnicke, Jasta 11, Von Richtofen's Flying Circus, Lechelle, 1918

Aviation Archive. Well done model, but with an oddly bowed top wing. Apparently the assembler couldn't get the struts to line up and had to apply a little muscle. Anyway, we'll survive the heavy handed model making, and still enjoy the rest, including the very nice joining of the paint where the blue tail and the camo green meet. All the cables are taught, the pilot looks happy, and it took me only an hour and a half to get the prop to spin freely. Recently, that task has taken up to two hours (put index finger on prop and start spinning; catch the high spot and work it back and forth -- grab a cup of coffee -- repeat).
