Fokker D.VII - Rudolf Stark, Jasta 35b, Summer 1918

Aviation Archive. Not much more anyone can say about this model than the model says for it's self. Well made and painted.

Severe digression. The model has exciting colors that reflect the pilots' image of themselves as Tutonic knights of the air. Knowing that, all you need to do is find a good read on medieval armour and heraldry. That subject, plus period armaments of course, is absolutely facinating. Or, you could just read Ivanhoe (or check out the movie). As an aside, one writer thought (tongue in cheek) that Sir Walter Scott influenced the Southern character so much that he was responsible for the American Civil War. Of course, Lincoln (only a little less seriously) felt that way about Harriet Beecher Stowe's influence on the North.
