DC-3 Trans-Canada Air Lines

Historical series. I love this neat little model. Get an example if you can. However, note the dihedral on the tailplane; the prototype DC-3 tailplane has no dihedral.

When comparing this to modern types, it is hard to believe this little plane started the commercial-aviation revolution. I first flew in the real thing in 1950 from San Diego to Portland, Oregon. My next flight in one was with Philippine Air Lines (PAL) in 1963 from Cubi Point to Manila. My knuckles are still white from that low flight over the jungle.

Packaging. You would never know this was an AeroClassics model unless you saw the www.aeroclassics.net address on the side of the box. Also, there is no item number.

DC-3 Quebecair

Historical series. Beautiful paint job, and an all-around quality model. Landing gear looks even better when viewed in person

Packaging. The box for this version of the DC-3 leaves no doubt that this is an AeroClassics model.

Tu-154-b2 and Tu-154M RA-85452

Wonderful, even entertaining model of the TU-154. The grey wings, white and blue fuselage, the futuristic logo on the tail ("to infinity and beyond"), and the archaic red wingtips are all applied in an excellent gloss paint that is, at least on this copy, flawless. The entire model, from the excellent landing gear, right up to the Multhopp T-tail, is a credit to both those who designed the model and those who put it together.

On the back cover of the model's box is a colorful map of Russia, showing the logos of the various airlines serving that country. A far cry from the Spartan boxes of yore.

You should get a copy of at least one of this series of well-done models.
